Ieva Austinskaitė, born in 1992, is a Lithuanian visual artist who uses photography to explore the complexities of public spaces and how people interact with urban environments. Her work primarily focuses on the fringes of cities, where everyday life and human activities leave subtle but significant marks on the urban landscape. Austinskaitė captures the transient and ambiguous nature of these spaces, highlighting spontaneous, unplanned events and the interplay between remnants of the past and current situations. She portrays cities not just as static backdrops but as dynamic entities, analyzing their materiality and uncovering hidden coincidences within the environment. Her artistic process involves a deep, personal engagement with her surroundings, observing and documenting cities from a pedestrian perspective, attuned to the rhythms of daily life and individual experiences.
